Projects Technology & Partners

The Gulf Petroleum Group has the technical expertise to meet the stringent demands of the oil sector thanks to our extensive experience of geological mapping, drilling, rigs, refining, pipeline and logistics

We can deliver the following to our clients.

Geological Survey & Mapping
Geological Survey & Mapping

A geological survey is the systematic investigation of the geology beneath a given piece of ground for the purpose of creating a geological map or model. Geological surveying employs techniques from the traditional walk-over survey, studying outcrops and landforms, to intrusive methods, such as hand augering and machine-driven boreholes, to the use of geophysical techniques and remote sensing methods, such as aerial photography and satellite imagery.

Core well Drilling & Rigs

The TRD 20 drill rig is ideal for Exploration drilling application in rock formation. Thanks to its simple and compact design, excellent performance, high accessibility and reliability at afford cost in its class. The TRD 20 rig’s flexibility means it will be mounted on tractor and (Rig can be mounted on two wheel or four wheel tractor upon customer request) Optional: Multipurpose drill rig (Core, DTH, Mud rotary).

Crude Oil Refinery

The refining process begins with crude oil. Crude oil is unrefined liquid petroleum, which ranges in color from yellow to black, and may have a paraffin, asphalt or mixed base. Crude oil is composed of thousands of different chemical compounds called hydrocarbons, all with different boiling points. For example, a typical crude oil may begin to boil at 104° F to produce petroleum gas used for heating and making plastics, and finish boiling at greater than 1112° F to produce residuals such as petroleum coke, asphalt and tar. Crude oil is generally described as sweet or sour according to its sulfur content, and heavy or light according to its API Gravity. The API Gravity index is a relative measure of weight-the lower the number, the heavier the material; the higher the number, the lighter the material.

Port Terminal Handlings

Terminal Handling Charges (THC) is the charges collected by terminal authorities at each port against handling equipments and maintenance. THC varies port to port of each country, as the cost of handling at each port differs one to another port, depends up on the total cost of port terminal handling at each location. Normally, Terminal handling charges (THC) for exports is collected from shipper by shipping lines while releasing Bill of Lading after completion of export customs clearance procedures. Let the sale contract between buyer and seller be anything, the THC at port of loading need to be paid at load port only. As per terms of delivery, if buyer has to pay such load port THC, such THC is paid at load port by either buyer’s representative or his authorized agent. In the case of shipments moved from inland destinations other than sea port, the said THC is collected at same location while releasing bill of lading by carrier.

Storage Tanks, & Pipelines
Storage Tanks, & Pipelines

As the world leader in construction of onshore long-distance oil and gas pipelines, CNPC has years of proven expertise and experience in pipeline construction in complex conditions such as mountainous areas, deserts, plateaus, swamps, water courses and collapsible loess. We are capable of building 6,700-9,700 kilometers various types of pipelines and oil/gas depots with a diameter of more than 711mm per year. In addition, we have the technological capacity to design and construct 150,000 cubic meters of crude tank and 10,000 cubic meters of gas tank, and are capable of designing and building 26 million cubic meters of crude tanks and 16 million cubic meters of refined product tanks per year.

Construction of New Refineries

An oil refinery or petroleum refinery is an industrial process plant where crude oil is processed and refined into more useful products such as petroleum naphtha, gasoline, diesel fuel, asphalt base, heating oil, kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas.Oil refineries are typically large, sprawling industrial complexes with extensive piping running throughout, carrying streams of fluids between large chemical processing units. In many ways, oil refineries use much of the technology of, and can be thought of, as types of chemical plants. The crude oil feed stock has typically been processed by an oil production plant. There is usually an oil depot (tank farm) at or near an oil refinery for the storage of incoming crude oil feedstock as well as bulk liquid products. An oil refinery is considered an essential part of the downstream side of the petroleum industry.

Modernization / Upgrading of Existing Refinery

The refineries are adjacent to each other and closely cooperate as a single processing complex. This enables the Group to select the best refining configuration and maximize the economic impact. Due to its flexible configuration, Bashneft’s refining complex can process various types of hydrocarbons: low- and high-sulphur oil, various types of gas condensate, medium and heavy distillates produced in the course of cooperation between the refineries. Bashneft’s refining complex includes a wide range of modern high-technology process units; as a result, the Group has the highest Nelson Index in the industry
